We are a bi-lingual, family-owned business based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and are passionate about making British Sign Language (BSL) available to all.
My name is Anthony Sinclair and I’ve been profoundly deaf since birth. I’m a qualified teacher and founder of the business which delivers teaching in deaf awareness and British Sign Language throughout the UK.
Although we do offer in-person training, I’ve developed a web-based sign language learning system, offering bespoke courses online.
They are interactive, make learning fun and are designed and produced to be of appeal to as wide an audience as possible without compromising on quality.
Increasing the reach and availability of BSL is at the heart of everything we do. Raising awareness about the history of the language, deaf culture and community is important to us too.
Sign Source also supports businesses and organisations create workplaces that are more inclusive and welcoming to deaf staff and customers.

About us
Sign Source is a family affair.
It was founded by Anthony Sinclair, who has been profoundly deaf since birth.
He is a qualified and highly experienced teacher and holds a PGCE in teaching BSL.
His wife Kristina works as a sign language interpreter and their three children have also learned the ‘beautiful language’ since birth.
As a bi-lingual, bimodal, bicultural family; their business is based on a belief that while people can and should learn sign language, deaf people can’t learn to hear.
Sign Source would love to see BSL introduced into the school curriculum at a very young age and has ambition to make this a reality.
It’s a win-win outcome giving all children a new language, learning and cultural experience and deaf children, automatic inclusion.

Learn For Free
At Sign Source, we aim to become a leading resource for parents throughout the UK to access free BSL courses.
Currently, parents to a deaf child have to find their own funding, with limited government support and it’s expensive.
These costs are unfair, and we are looking at ways to provide free placements and mentoring to support families with a deaf child through income generated by our work in other sectors.
Corporate social responsibility at its best.
Business, education, and other sectors leaning in to include the deaf community, embrace its culture, reduce social isolation, and promote mental well-being.
Sign Source is turning this into a campaign.
